2009 Kiwanis Scholarship recipients
Starting in October 2008 we will be meeting on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month. At our last meeting (9/3/08), there was a motion and second to continue meeting twice a month. Everyone at the meeting agreed. There was discussion on what Wednesday to meet. We have been meeting the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. This is not convenient for a couple of individuals. We are thinking of changing it to the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. We will vote on this tomorrow (9/17/08). If you cannot make it please let me [Pat] know which Wednesdays work for you. We want this to work for everyone. Thank you for responding.
The Hug-a-K-Bear project is designed to put comforting teddy bears into the hands of any child who might need one. The plan is to donate to our local police, sheriffs departments, fire / rescue, first response and any other agency where children might need a friend to help them through a tough situation. These bears can give comfort, support and love to children who need it. The South Sioux City Police Department and the South Sioux City Fire / Rescue Department were presented with bears at a special SSC Kiwanis meeting on February 14th.
