Club History

Kiwanis International was founded in 1915 and our own South Sioux City Kiwanis Club was started in 1944.  Today, as in 1944, Kiwanis is an organization of service-minded citizens who respond to the unique needs of the South Sioux City community by practicing the Kiwanis motto “Serving the Children of the World”.  Some of the projects that our SSC Kiwanis Club has contributed to are the South Sioux City Public Library, Head Start books, scholarships, South Sioux City High School After Prom, various cases of individual medical assistance, 4-H bonus auction and the South Sioux City Fire Department pediatric trauma kit.

The SSC Kiwanis club meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 12:00 noon at the Marina Inn.  Visitors are always welcome
